Punjab Kings Defeats Chennai Super Kings Quite Easily. What a game of Cricket this was between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. As you may know that Chennai Super Kings have not been able to win matches consistently this year of the competition. But all the fans and supporters of Chennai Super Kings were very hopeful for the fact that they will get the rhythm going this evening. So in today’s match, Chennai Super Kings captain Ravindra Jadeja won the toss and was elected to field first. And he said that his team is pretty confident of Chasing down any total and will back themselves to do so tonight also.

So coming out to bat first Punjab Kings did have a great start for their inning and they scored runs easily in the powerplay overs. However, after Mayank’s dismissal, the new batsman Bhanuka Rajapakshe came to the crease and scored fast runs. However, the opening stand did not last for long but it was the testimony of the way Punjab Kings intended to bat. Also, Shikhar Dhawan showed all his class and experience in the well-compiled 88 runs. But the way it looked at the start and a certain total of 200 was on the cards. But Chennai Super Kings did some damage control at the 17th and 18th over to restrict them below 190. So, Punjab Kings were only able to get to 187 and give CSK the target of 188 runs.

What Followed

So Punjab Kings finished with 187 runs on the board. Chennai Super Kings coming out to chase also did not have a very great start. And lost their opener, Robin, in the fifth over of the powerplay after a slowish start. But it was the experienced Ambati Rayudu who took the onus upon himself and scored freely in every part of the ground. So, the way he was batting it looked that CSK would easily clinch the match but it was not to be. And he was dismissed at the individual score of 78 runs and that was not enough as CSK fail to win by 11 runs. But it was certainly the overs of Rabada and Arshdeep which pulled the game back from Chennai Super Kings’ jaws.

So the bad luck for Chennai Super Kings continues. And they have lost six out of the eight matches that they have played. Whereas Punjab Kings have won four matches out of the eight that they have played. Now the point table in the Indian Premier League is suddenly spicing up. And the teams like Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are still at the bottom part of the table. But the thing in this match which the fans enjoyed most was the time MS Dhoni came to the crease. Also, in the first innings, the little cameo of Liam Livingstone played a crucial role in the match.
